'57 Triumph Thunderbird

Every time I think I've seen the most beautiful custom bike via the incredible Bike EXIF, the bring the fucking heat and I'm blown away all over again...

From the mouth of the masters:

Clay Rathburn of Atom Bomb specializes in low-key customs, the kind that have a charm that grows on you. This is his latest bike, a 1957 Triumph Thunderbird built for Corey Theuerkauf. ‘Corey’s dad Tim started gathering parts to build himself a Triumph twenty years ago,’ says Clay. ‘But he recently passed away unexpectedly. His family decided to finish the project, and asked me to get it done.’

It was a pretty emotional thing for everyone involved, especially since no one knew exactly what Tim had in mind for the bike. Tim’s collection of parts was large and varied, and didn’t provide much in the way of direction. So Clay decided to go for a clean and simple build: ‘a mix of traditional chopper/bobber with a bit of Atom Bomb thrown in.’

George Harrison Doc

And finally... the trailer for the George Harrison documentary from Martin Scorsese...

Available on iTunes: http://bit.ly/q3XWSf

A collaboration with Sultan + Ned Shepard, BT and featuring Angela McCluskey (Telepopmusik), the track titled "In the Air" is the first single from Page's upcoming studio album, set to drop later this year.

Volleying from BT, Sultan and Shepard's unique live instruments into gorgeous synth swells, the song is as expansive as it is enthralling. And as for Angela McCluskey's vocals, they can only be described as hauntingly powerful.

Ladies and gentlemen, "This Is Home"

'59 Panhead Custom

Dear motorcycle gods, forgive me for the sin I have not yet committed... I want to have sexual relations with this 1959 Harley Davidson Panhead Custom.

Sexual. Relations.

From my favorite custom motorcycle blog on the interwebs, Bike EXIF:

Matt Whitlock runs Wrecked Metals, a hotrod and chopper shop in Boise, Idaho. And when he’s not building slammed Fords and Chevys, he’s riding this super-clean 1959 Harley. His Panhead has an effortless beauty about it, but the build was a mission for Matt. He’d had his eye on the bike for a long time, and finally scraped together enough money to buy it. After an incident-prone four years of riding it, he sent the motor off for a rebuild—and the shop burnt down. The Panhead engine survived the fire, but it took Matt a year to get it back. It’s now been extended to 93 ci, and is hooked up to a 4-speed transmission.

The bike has a rigid frame, an inline Springer front end and a suicide shift. ‘I tried to hand-fabricate as much stuff as I could,’ says Matt. ‘I’ve owned the bike for 10 years.’ Matt made the shotgun pipes, bars, forward controls and fender himself, giving the Harley a timeless, classic look. It might be half a century old, but this big twin is in the prime of its life. I’d ride it in a heartbeat. [Thanks to Sara Byrne for the images.]

I'm Gonna Be Your Friend

From Hits:

The Bob Marley Campaign launched this week with the goal of getting 700 million Facebook subscribers and Twitter fans to support the Save the Children's East Africa Appeal. "I’m Gonna Be Your Friend” is being supported by many of the world’s most famous names in entertainment and their fans. View a short film of the crisis in East Africa created by award-winning director Kevin MacDonald from footage of East Africa embedded below. The film is set to the 1973 Bob Marley & the Wailers song “High Tide or Low Tide” and will reach over a billion people. The campaign was developed to support Save the Children’s appeal to raise funds for the devastating food crisis affecting millions of children and their families across East Africa, bringing together the combined resources of Universal Music Group, Yahoo!, Facebook, AOL, MSN, YouTube and Twitter, among others.

Many of these partners are showing the film and providing global editorial coverage, which will accompany the release of the downloadable track on the day of the launch. Among the supporters of the drive are Eminem, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, David Beckham, U2, Beyonce, the Rolling Stones, Muhammad Ali, Jennifer Lopez, Muse, Coldplay, Elton John, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Robert Plant, Kanye West, Madonna, Justin Bieber, Brian May, Sting, Rihanna and many more, all launching the campaign via their huge networks of friends and fans on Facebook and Twitter (#beafriend).
